Advisory Council

The GVMS Advisory Council 
Under the philosophy of site-based management in Prince William County Public Schools, the Gainesville Advisory Council represents and assesses the needs of the community and staff. The Advisory Council helps develop the School Plan and insures that it reflects the vision and mission of Gainesville. The Advisory Council acts as an advisor to the school administration on the budget, implementation, evaluation, and modifications of the School Plan. The Gainesville Advisory Council will identify concerns, obtain community and staff feedback, and support the goals of the educational system.  The council is comprised of 6 parent and 6 teacher representatives.

The next Advisory Council meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday February 9, 2010 at 6:00pm. 

Still looking for two new members!  Open seats are for the "Alvey/Ellis/Victory" and "Buckland Mills" positions. Please contact the school office or Robin Knies before February 9th if interested or attend the February meeting. If any parent has questions or concerns to share, please contact a council member and/or plan to speak during Citizens' Time. Submit all questions or concerns in writing one week prior to the Advisory Council meeting.
